We are seeking a Director, Technical Systems Security to:

  • Coordinate threat and vulnerability and incident response strategies for leadership of the systems security teams.
  • Lead staff development on adversarial tactics, tools, threat hunting and incident response.
  • Oversee governance process for forensics, cipher/algorithm utilization, and penetration testing. 
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and direction to direct and indirect reports.
  • Lead and guide the systems security program utilizing NIST CSF to identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover from security events and incidents.
  • Provide financial and operational leadership to balance security risk with organizational risk.
  • Oversee the development of policies, procedures, technical systems, and training to develop a future facing information security program.

Education:

Minimum – Bachelor Degree in Healthcare, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Healthcare Administration or related field. 4 years of relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree in addition to experience below.

Preferred – Master’s degree in IS Security, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration

Work Experience:

Minimum –

  • Seven years of progressive experience within an Information Technology or Security related field
  • Experience working across the systems development or operational life cycle
  • Experience and exposure to a variety of database and technology infrastructures

Preferred –

  • Ten+ years extensive project and leadership experience resulting in greater levels of responsibility and leadership based upon proven success.
  • Previous work experience with federal and state privacy and security laws, regulations, and accreditation standards for maintaining information security and confidentiality
  • Seven years direct patient care delivery and operational management experience
  • Proven experience in collaboration and development of successful partnerships between IT and operations.
  • Significant prior experience leading IT Systems support staff.
  • Experience supporting systems and/or operations in a 24x7 hospital setting.

Licenses and Certifications:

Minimum – Security certification: Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM), or Certified in Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS)

Preferred –

  • CPHIMS, PMP, ITIL
  • Various Vendor Certifications as relevant for the position

  • Knowledge of principles and techniques used in negotiation as applied to service contracts and equipment purchasing.
  • Effective organizational, planning and project management abilities.
  • Experience in financial and programmatic presentations.
  • Ability to function independently and deal with multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to recognize personal strengths and weaknesses and develop goals for professional growth and achievement. 
  • Ability to demonstrate a commitment to quality and excellence.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools.  Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position that is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, with periodic on-call requirements. Hours may vary based upon the operational needs of the department.
