Organization Overview
Infinity Primary Care, PLLC is a physician owned primary care group with 13 office locations in Brighton Canton, Livonia, Novi and West Bloomfield, Michigan.
The group includes 55 Board Certified physicians and 250+ employees. Infinity physicians also provide leadership and faculty for several primary care residency programs in the Detroit metropolitan area.
Infinity's Diagnostic Testing Center provides: CT, Cardiac Nuclear, Ultrasound, Vascular, General x-ray, Bone Density and Lab with OrchardSoft laboratory information system (LIS) and Opal Rad picture archiving & communication system (PACS).
Central Administration, IT and Billing Office is located in Livonia, Michigan. Since 2006, billing, collections and clinical documentation are performed utilizing NextGen's practice management and electronic health record.
Infinity has organized and hosted the annual Midwest User's Group (NextGen) for the past 8 years. Over 150 attendees and 15 national vendor sponsors, including NextGen.
Application environment: Single 500 gb database within NextGen suite (includes EPM/EHR/Patient Portal/Health Quality Reporting).
IT infrastructure and hardware: self-hosted environment supported by local vendor and includes Active Directory with 10 terminal servers and an image server; Kerio email server and VMware virtualized desktop environment.
Multiple bi-directional interfaces with several local hospitals including links to Michigan Health Connect, our local Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO).
Infinity performs database reporting through SQL SSRS. All physicians attested for Meaningful Use in 2011. We are very involved in quality reporting through BCBS-Michigan Patient Centered Medical Home, NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home, PQRS, MiPCT and others.
Organization History
Infinity Primary Care, PLLC was formed in 2004 by an entrepreneurial group of primary care physicians who were leaving hospital employment.
Established with the goal of being independent and fully electronic, in 2006 the physicians implemented NextGen's EPM/EHR suite.
Also in 2006, the group opened their Diagnostic Testing Center offering CT. Cardiac Nuclear, Ultrasound, Vascular, General x-ray, Bone Density and Laboratory.
The group has continued to grow through the addition of offices and bringing in new physicians. We are associated with several primary care residency programs in the Detroit metropolitan area.
Utilizing our electronic reporting capabilities, Infinity has been very active in multiple quality improvement programs. Physicians attested for Meaningful Use in 2011.
