White Pine Systems is an emerging Ann Arbor, Michigan company building a scalable technology platform that increases patient engagement, improves outcomes and decreases cost. The platform, called "SPINN" The Secure Personal Information & Notification Network, provides web and mobile-enabled health information management, data analysis, social media, and electronic workflow for specific health interests such as diabetes, heart disease, and substance abuse. SPINN allows hospitals, insurers and other organizations to offer full featured patient portals and Personal Health Records designed around specific health interests, like diabetes, heart disease or substance abuse. SPINN has been shown to lower cost and improve outcomes.
