Barton Health, is a community-based, not-for-profit, hospital and integrated healthcare system, and proudly serves the Lake Tahoe, Carson Valley and surrounding communities. Our services include a 71-bed acute care facility, 48-bed skilled nursing center, community clinic, urgent care centers, pediatric, internal medicine and family practice groups, with home health, home infusion and hospice services.

• Medical Insurance
o Barton Health offers a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) Medical Plan administered by HealthComp.
• Prescription
o Retail prescription coverage through participating network pharmacies
o Mail-order prescription coverage for maintenance medications offering a 90-day mail order supply for the cost of only two copayments
• Dental Insurance
o Barton Health offers a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) dental plan that is administered through MetLife.
• Vision Insurance
o Participating members receive benefits through Medical Eye Services Vision Care Plan.
• Health Savings Account
o In addition to our more traditional health insurance packages, Barton Health is also pleased to offer our employees the option of a Health Savings Account (HSA). A HSA allows you to pay for current health expenses and save for future qualified medical expenses on a tax-free basis. Employees participating in the HSA will be covered by a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). Barton Health’s HDHP offers affordable monthly premiums starting at only $15 per pay period for full time employees.
• CALSTAR Memberships
o Discounted CALSTAR memberships are available to all Barton Health employees. In the event you or one of your household members require emergency air medical services, CALSTAR will work with your insurance to secure payment for their services and will waive any remaining balance due. Participating employees without insurance are 100% covered with their annual CALSTAR membership and all charges for services are waived.
• Wellness Program
o Once a year, Barton Health employees may have a full metabolic blood panel run free of charge. Additional blood tests are also offered at a significant employee discount.
o Barton Occupational Health provides free flu shots to all employees during flu season including H1N1 shots. Additionally, employees may take advantage of free Hepatitis B, tetanus and pertussis vaccinations.
o Free lifestyle screening which includes body composition analysis, blood pressure checks and suggested lifestyle modification techniques
o Discounted employee Botox shots
o Smoking cessation classes available free of charge to Barton Health staff
• Life Insurance
o Benefited employees automatically receive $10,000 in basic life insurance starting the first day of benefit eligibility.
o Optional life insurance and dependent life insurance are also available for an additional cost.
• Aflac
o Aflac offers a variety of supplemental insurance plans to complement Barton’s standard benefit package. Supplemental insurance plans cover expenses that are not covered under a regular insurance plan or they may provide a cash benefit to the insured that is in addition to their regular insurance coverage. • 403(b) Retirement Plan
o A 403(b) plan is a pre-tax savings plan for non-profit organizations that allows you to put away money for your future retirement. Employees are eligible to start contributing to the 403(b) plan their first day of employment.
o Additionally, Barton offers an employer match that begins that first day of the employee’s second year of employment in a benefitted position.
o Free financial and retirement planning sessions with a representative from Lincoln Life

• CoPower administered Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (HFSA)*
o Set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible out-of-pocket health, dental and vision expenses, prescriptions, and over-the-counter medications.
• CoPower administered Dependent Care Spending Account (DCAP)*
o Set aside money on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible day-care expenses for your children or adult dependents.
*CoPower members will receive a CoPower prepaid card that conveniently pays qualified healthcare and/or dependent care expenses at any participating location where MasterCard is accepted
• Earned Time Off (ETO)
o Generous ETO program where first year employees can earn up to 180 hours of time off for sick days, holidays and to take advantage all of the wonderful benefits of living in South Lake Tahoe. The ETO accrual rate also increases with your years of service with Barton Health.
• Jury Duty Pay
o Barton Health is proud to support our employees in the fulfillment of their civic duties. Employees serving as jurors, or as witnesses in accordance with legal obligations, will be paid at their regular rate of pay for any scheduled shifts which cannot be worked due to their service.
• Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
o Barton’s Employee Assistance Program is administered by the Holman Group. The EAP is a service offered to all Barton employees and includes a range of confidential services and resources to help with problems employees face in their day-to-day work and family lives.
• Friend in Need
o Eligible employees who experience a catastrophic or financially devastating situation may take advantage of Barton Health’s Friend in Need program. The Friend in Need program is funded by employees for employees for the express purpose of assisting our co-workers who experience unfortunate and unforeseeable financial troubles

o Discount movie tickets to local theatres are available for employees to purchase in the Human Resources office.

• Barton University
o Barton University is the corporate university and community education provider for Barton Health. Barton University provides enriching, innovative programs that promote personal knowledge and professional growth. All certifications that employees are required to have are available for free to employees though Barton University. Other non-required classes are also available to employees for a nominal charge.
• Payroll Deduct for Barton Health Bills
o Barton employees are able to have their Barton Health medical bills deducted directly from their paycheck. Employees utilizing the payroll deduct payment plan option will receive a 5% discount on their bills. Additional pre-payment discounts are also available for employees who pay their bill in full within 30-days of the first billing statement.
• Direct Deposit
o Barton Health offers the convenience of having your paycheck directly deposited into your bank account saving you the hassle of a trip to the bank.
• Cafeteria Discount
o All Barton employees receive a 30% discount on meals at the Barton Mountain Café. The Barton Mountain Café is located in Barton Memorial Hospital and offers meals and a limited stock of basic grocery items for sale seven days per week from 7:00am to 7:30pm.
• Working Advantage
o Barton Health has partnered with Working Advantage to be able to offer a savings of up to 60% to our employees on tickets to events and attractions, travel and shopping.
