Central Washington Hospital is more than a community hospital. It is the major medical facility and referral center for North Central Washington. Services include inpatient and outpatient surgery, cardiac program, coronary and intensive care, respiratory care, oncology, dialysis, neonatal nursery, home health and hospice, regional trauma emergency department, skilled nursing and rehabilitative services such as cardio-pulmonary, physical, speech, and occupational therapies.
Organization History
The origins of Central Washington Hospital date to the early 1900s with the establishment of Central Washington Deaconess Hospital and St. Anthony’s Hospital. The two organizations merged in 1974 to form Central Washington Health Services Association. The St. Anthony’s facility was renamed Rosewood Hospital in 1974 and the facilities combined their operations at the remodeled and expanded Rosewood Hospital site under the name Central Washington Hospital.
Central Washington Hospital enjoys a rich tradition of excellence in quality care and medical expertise. These traditions have sustained through years of community growth, building expansion, and major advances in medical technology.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
Received the HomeCare Elite award for having a Home Health & Hospice Agency that is in the top 25% of all home care agencies whose performance measures in quality, improvement and financial performance are the best in the nation. Also, Central Washington Hospital has been named to the Community Value Index™ Top 100 Hospitals list, identifying Central as a leader in low-cost, low-charge hospital care.
