As one of the nation’s top cancer centers, the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Center is Southeast Michigan’s most preferred hospital for cancer care and is known for innovative cancer therapies and groundbreaking clinical research.
The Barbara Ann karmanos Cancer institute is dedicated to the prevention, early detection and eventual eradication of cancer. Affiliated with the nation’s fourth largest medical school, Wayne State University School of Medicine, Karmanos cars for nearly 6,000 new patients annually and conducts more than 700 cancer-specific scientific investigation programs and clinical trials.
Organization History
The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute is named after a loving wife and mother, who courageously fought breast cancer for eight years until the age of 46. Her family wanted to ensure that other families facing any type of cancer have the best cancer care available.
