Organization History
The Cooper Institute is a global leader in preventive health research and programming for children and adults. It has achieved worldwide recognition for its outstanding scientific research on exercise physiology, obesity, hypertension, epidemiology, behavior change, children's health issues nutrition, aging and other preventive medicine issues.
The organization was established in 1970, and is a non-profit research and education organization dedicated globally to preventive medicine. The Institute's founder is Dr. Kenneth H. Cooper, M.D., M.P.H., the "Father of Aerobics".
